My name is Sarah Gilbert, and I am the one behind the lens here at SBG Photography! As a two-time graduate of Auburn University with deep roots in photography and the rodeo world, I bring both a creative eye and a storyteller’s instinct to every shoot!
Why Photography?
What drives me as a photographer is a deep passion for storytelling and capturing emotion in its most honest form. I’m inspired by the ability to preserve fleeting moments, whether it’s a soft glance, a burst of laughter, or a quiet detail that might otherwise go unnoticed. What I love most about my work is the connection I build with people and the opportunity to turn everyday moments into lasting memories that make others feel seen, beautiful, and remembered.
My Background
I hold both a Bachelor's and Master of Arts in Communication & Public Relations from Auburn University, where I developed a deep appreciation for storytelling, connection, and the power of visual communication. My photography journey began as a creative outlet, but it quickly evolved into a meaningful way to capture and preserve the moments that matter most. Alongside my work behind the camera, I’ve spent years as a rodeo athlete, and I still compete today. These parts of my life have shaped not only my work ethic, but also my ability to find beauty in grit, movement, and the quiet in-between moments. Whether I’m photographing portraits, couples, or equine sessions, my goal is always to create images that feel honest, timeless, and deeply personal.
